Bila dah makin membersar, mata
kita akan semakin membuka. Membuka memerhati sekeliling. Minda kita akan
semakin terbuka. Terbuka untuk mempelajari dan memahami sekeliling. Perkara
Sekarang,
ia sudah berubah.
Ada satu masa, one of my friend's
sister sound saya kaw2 punya sebab tak ambil tahu pasal politik. "Rosak
masa depan negara kalau golongan muda tak ambil tahu pasal negara, asyik dengan
berhibur." To be honest, pada waktu itu saya sudah mula membuka mata
dengan politik. Baca, analisis, dan faham sendiri. However, I didn't bash
anyone- any party by using social media on the net because saya ni orang biasa2
saja yang tak suka kawan sama kawan bergaduh hanya kerana politik. Macam mana
mengikut isu politik semasa. Terima kasih pada dia. Cuma, jangan la hentam
teruk2 bila orang lain tak sehaluan ok.
Bila mana kita menulis dalam
internet ini, kita kena berhati-hati. Kata orang melayu, "terlajak perahu
boleh diundur, terlajak kata badan binasa." Dalam zaman moden ini,
bolehlah kita ganti 'kata' dengan 'tulis'. Kena berhati- hati lah bila menulis.
Jangan ikut sedap hati, nanti jadi seperti seorang cik engineer yang tersilap
langkah.
Anyway, back to the main topic.
Of all the politic issues that are
spreading like viral through the internet now, the one topic i'm hugely interested is...Unity. Perpaduan.
Di mana- mana kita boleh lihat
mesej perpaduan. 1Malaysia dan Malaysian
Malaysia adalah motto bagi setiap parti itu. Kata orang melayu lagi, "
Bersatu kita teguh, bercerai kita roboh." Dalam mana2 zaman/negara pun, perpaduan adalah
tunjang kekuatan sesuatu negara. Tapi
bila masuk dalam konteks Malaysia...jujurnya saya cakap ia macam tiada. Mungkin
saya salah, atau mungkin saya buta hati. Mungkin saya masih hijau umur dan
pengalaman hidup, tapi itulah pendapat saya.
races in Malaysia).
I don't want to elaborate more on
the reasons why national unity is 'lost' in my eyes. One side will say it's
caused by the vernacular schools while the other side will say it's caused by
the failure of the government to give proper
care for them. And many other points, and so on, and so on, and so on,
bla3~
But i just want to share my view
based on my short 23 years of life experience (insyaallah panjang umur lagi).
This is my simple story, as a
moderate melayu boy in Malaysia.
Saya lahir di Alor Star, Kedah.
Rumah saya adalah rumah teres, Taman Delima. Taman saya tu, 100% Melayu. Taman
sebelah saya (Taman Intan?Taman Derga?Taman Nilam?) adalah taman yang
majoritinya adalah Chinese. Tapi saya jarang pergi, sebab coverage basikal saya
mengatakan taman itu agak jauh.
I grew up there, making friends
with other kids from my neighbours (itupun hanya dua blok/nerai/line teres
saja, yang lain terpisah jauh sikit). Our gang members were about 15 , and of
course all are malay. Umur 6 tahun, masuk tadika ABIM. Islamik punya tadika.
Needless to say, all kids there are Malay.
My primary school, is Sekolah
Kebangsaan Tunku Raudzah. National school. As far as i can remember, i had
never saw a chinese boy during my 6 years there. I believe Indian boys were
there, but very5 little. My whole classes from year 1 to year 6, all students
are Malay.
For secondary school, i was first
enrolled to Kolej Sultan Abdul Hamid. Kali ni ia berbeza sikit. My batch, the
form 1 of 2002 did consist quite a number of chinese students. But
unfortunately for me, they were scattered from class B till F, not class A
which is my class (masa tu, class belum disusun ikut kemampuan, sebab semua
freshie 4As or 5As). It didn't matter,
because 2 months later i was then received an offer to study at SBP , in my
case at Sekolah Menengah Sains Sultan Mohamad Jiwa, Sungai Petani. Jadi, saya
pindah ke sana...
Mad Jiwa ni, kata orang, sekolah
budak pandai.
Saya gelak saja
bila dengar semua itu sekarang ni.
Ah dah melalut.
Masuk Mad Jiwa, saya masuk kelas
1A4. Student batch saya semuanya Melayu kecuali seorang Indian girl. Jadi
Batch saya kekal sebegitu.
5 tahun berlalu, it's time for
Matriculation. This is the first time i mingle amongst non-Kedah (haha, kampung
sungguh) students since Mad Jiwa tu majoriti orang Kedah. Chinese and Indian students
are more visible than during my Mad Jiwa time, it's obvious. Most of them are
account students, only a few are Physics or Biology students. My roommates are
all Malay. My classmates are all Malay. During big lecture classes, the
students sit among their closest friends. So you can guess how it turned out.
Fast forward a year, it's the new
phase which is UKM. Here the Chinese and Indian are much more greater in
numbers compared to matriculation time but still the Malay are clear majority.
Nevermind about that. I'm a Chemistry
students, 1 of the 60 plusminus students in batch 2008-2009. Out of the
60something, about 6 are Chinese and 2 are Indians. The others are Malay. Pola
seating kami, adalah mengikut suka hati dan keselesaan which turn out ikut
warna kulit. During assignments, again ikut trend yang sama kecuali some of the
cases yang memang tak boleh elak.
Oh penempatan kolej/asrama tempat
tinggal. Dari saya first year sampai la ke sekarang, my room mate is a malay.
Malay with a malay, chinese with a chinese, indian with an indian. There was
once when i was at the end of my 2nd year
semester, in order to pick students for staying next semester, a mass
interview was held by my residential college. Actually it was a rubbish
interview. Anyway, one of the cepumas punya soalan is, "Say-0, would you
be willing to have a chinese, or indian roommate?" I said yes no
problem. While i said yes, there were
3,4 of my Malay friends who objected.
And some of the Chinese too. At the end (start of 3rd year 1st
semester), the rommate system was still the same. MM, CC, II. Oh ya saya join Kelab Teater kat kolej kediaman tu.
Damn, I forget to mention. I'm a
basketball player who really started playing when I was in form 1. During my school
time, all my team mates are malay. Then move on to matriculation, I have 5
chinese team mates (I was a member of KMJ basketball team for KAKOM). We were
quit close. We shared our meal together, usya awek-amoi sama2, tidur share
tilam sama2, haha...Almost daily we played together and sometimes we played
with other chinese-indian-malay boys too. Back at home, i used to play at a
basketball court around Taman Golf/Taman Rimba. Situ, majoriti is malay, with
some 3,4 chinese that occassionally came and 2 very persistent indian friends
of mine. Badan dia pun dah tough gila sekarang ni, hebat ar~ At UKM, I'm not
very active with basketball for certain reasons but whenever i go to play, the
polarisation is clear. MM-CC. Sometimes some chinese will join us, sometimes we
join the chinese boys.
Well that's what I want to tell.
That's the simple timeline of mine, an ordinary malay boy. Hopefully, i shed some
lights from my writing and sharing of thoughts here. Apapun, mari kita layan
video ini!
