Games to Movies

Baru- baru ini aku terasa bersemangat untuk menonton kembali beberapa movie-movie legend yang ada dalam pc aku. So, ulanglah Batman The Dark Knight, Batman Begins (baru tengok actually), Inception dan Puss In Boots. Yes, Puss In Boot. That movie is special in my heart!! Jangan gelak!

Well anyway, dalam dah habis movie2 tu, aku terasa nak ulang balik movie Prince of Persia- The Sands of Time. Just terkenangkan game dia, buatkan aku rasa nak play again the movie. With that I watched it again...

Setelah habis movie Prince tu, bersemangat pulak nak baca review2 dari internet. Apa yang aku dapat...sedih. POP dapat mostly average score, mostly around 4-6 out of 10. Most of them tak puas hati, tak suka, kecewa, dan macam2 lagi. Satu point paling kuat yang ada pada semua review- it's a video game based movie. MOVIE ASAL DARI VIDEO GAME.

Fuh, sumpahan sebenarnya ayat tu.

Aku dah banyak tengok movie2 yang adapt dari game ni. Hm...banyak la rasanya. Let me list down and put some review to it. We start with...

1. Prince Of Persia- The Sands of Time.

The Prince, The Princess and the King's Brother

This is a movie about a prince and a dagger that can rewind time thus change the course of history. Secara pendeknya, Dastan adalah anak angkat kepada Raja Parsi. Dastan dan dua abang dia (Tus dan Garsiv) serang satu mystical kingdom named Alamut. Serang atas alasan Alamut is a source of threat to Persia. Then the prince jumpa satu dagger yang boleh rewind time, and that dagger is the sacred thing the princess of Alamut wajib pertahankan. As the movie goes, some rampasan kuasa (the king is assassinated) dan penderhakaan oleh family King of Persia berlaku, buatkan Prince perlu confront his brothers and tell the truth since he was badly blamed for the death of the King. Jadi, dengan awek di sebelah (princess of Alamut) dan semangat yang waja, putera kita berusaha membetulkan apa yang salah. Muahahaha!

Anyway, this movie is very satisfying for me. Why? Because it has lots of same elements with the game. Paling obvious- costume (armour) untuk Prince adalah sebijik macam dalam game. Rekaan dagger juga 100% sama. The city itself is quite the same and artistic with the game. Istana, halls, temples, same. Then the actions- lots of jumping here and there, running and jumping on rooftops. Sebijik macam dalam game. Konsep storyline juga ada yang sama dengan game such as sandglass, limited chances to use the dagger (unless you refuel it with the sands of times), the task of the princess to safeguard the dagger and the sandglass (eventhough lain sikit dari game), and semestinya aku super suka efek dia bila guna power time rewind tu. Serious efek tu sama dengan game.

The Warrior Within- My favourite out of the games trilogy

Kalau dari segi plot, logic dan lain2 seni movie, aku rasa ada flaws dia. Dia tak tinggalkan kesan mendalam macam inception ke, character tak cukup chemistry ke, language salah ke...I don't really care at all. Because as a big-big fan of POP series in video games, this movie had given me more than what I expected. For some disappointment...I think they should have make more fight scenes/fall scenes that need the prince to use

the sands of time. Like in video games...bila salah lompat dan jatuh je...."argghhh rewind cepat2!" Bila lawan sampai mati-kena pukul sampai habis lifeline "damn...rewind dan g minum air dulu!" Haha baru best~

I hope, I really-really hope that they will make sequels from this movie. Seriously, for those who don't play the video game versions, you have no idea how wonderful the storyline is. How artistic the design and the imaginary construction of Persia is. Oh actually they target to do sequels for this movie, most probably to follow the games most famous trilogy (Sands of Time- Warrior Within- The Two Thrones) but you know if the receptions for the first is bad (which I believe is bad) and the money return was unimpressive...then maybe it will only be a dream.

Just for some idea of the video game version, check this out. Oh it's an old game (2003) so the graphic is a bit outdated but nevermind, don't hurt you to watch it.

Nampaknya dah terlalu panjang, takpe yang movie2 lain nanti akan disambung semula. Ada lagi...Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Dragon Ball, Tekken, Hitman. Banyak lagi. Stay tuned.
